29 Years of Building — The Hard Way

Eric Flaherty grew up in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, where he took his first construction job at 18 working concrete flatwork alongside an old-timer who taught him that every job — no matter how basic — deserves your best effort.

Eric went on to study architectural engineering at New England Institute of Technology, then worked as a draftsman at Hubbell Design Group before the pull of real hands-on work proved too strong to ignore.

From 2004 to 2009, Eric sharpened his craft as a carpenter at Parker Construction in East Providence, Rhode Island — high-end work: cedar roofing, cedar siding, copper flashings. That’s where he met Steve Potenza, a fellow carpenter who taught him how to properly install an architectural shingle.

His move to Florida opened his eyes to a market full of hardworking people doing work they’d never been properly trained to do. Eric spent years inside a Florida roofing firm, helping scale it to roughly $20 million in annual revenue — and studying for his Florida roofing contractor license along the way.

In 2020 he founded iDEAL Home Solutions LLC with a mission that’s stayed simple: hire talented people, train them the right way, and deliver quality most Florida homeowners had stopped expecting.
